Cookie policy

This page explains the cookies The Trend Verdict uses and when they are set. We keep tracking to a minimum: our default analytics are cookieless, and the only cookies that can carry an analytics identifier are set only if you opt in.

Cookieless by default

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that is cookieless: it sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and uses no cross-site identifiers. It runs on every page and gives us only aggregate, anonymous usage (page views, referrers, country-level location) — never individual profiles. Nothing about Cloudflare Web Analytics requires your consent.

Google Analytics — only after you opt in

We also use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used. Unlike Cloudflare Web Analytics, Google Analytics sets cookies. Because of that, we run it under Google Consent Mode v2: analytics storage is denied by default, so no Google Analytics cookies are set until you actively agree.

The first time you visit, a small banner asks whether we may enable Google Analytics. If you choose “Allow analytics”, we update your consent to granted and Google Analytics begins setting its cookies (typically _ga and _ga_<container>, used to tell repeat visits apart and measure usage; Google retains them for up to two years). If you choose “Decline”, analytics storage stays denied and those cookies are never set.

Either way, we remember your choice in a single first-party cookie (ttv-consent) so we don't ask again on every visit. It stores only granted or denied, carries no personal data, and lasts for one year. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this cookie in your browser — the banner will reappear so you can choose again. We never enable Google's advertising signals; consent applies to analytics only.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking the consent cookie or declining in the banner keeps Google Analytics off; Cloudflare Web Analytics needs no cookies and is unaffected. For the wider picture of how we handle data, see our Privacy policy.
